      1. Economic Accounts for Agriculture (EAA) provide detailed income data in the agricultural sector. The main purpose of the Agricultural Accounts is to analyze the production process and the primary income generated by it. Therefore, the accounts are based on the industry concept. EAA are detailed data on the value of production (production prices and basic prices), intermediate consumption, subsidies and taxes, fixed capital consumption, rent and bank interest, etc. Economic Accounts for Agriculture are the satellite account of the European System of Integrated Economic Accounts (ESA), an accounting system that follows the UN recommendations for national accounts. They cover agricultural products and services produced during the accounting period that are sold by agricultural units, are kept in farm stock or used for further processing by agricultural producers.
      1. EAA are an integral part of the European System of Accounts and therefore, for their design, the overall Eurostat classification for economic activities, NACE Rev. 1, is used. The list of activities that determines the agricultural industry corresponds to division 01 of this classification: Agriculture, hunting and related service activities.
      1. The sector covers the income of all units involved in agricultural production, even if units have more important economic activities, and if the purpose of the units is not commercial. Garden products (produced for own consumption only) are not included. Partition 01 of NACE Rev. 1 consists of: Group 01.1: Cultivation of agricultural crops, garden products for sale, horticulture; Group 01.2: Livestock growth; Group 01.3: Combination of cultivation of agricultural crops and livestock growth (mixed agricultural activities); Group 01.4: Agricultural service activities and livestock growth, other than veterinary services; Group 01.5: Hunting
      1. Economic Accounts for Agriculture provide a wide range of indicators of economic activity in the agricultural sector: production, intermediate consumption, gross added value, net value added, workers compensation, taxes and subsidies on production, net operating surplus or mixed net income, property income, entrepreneurial net income, etc at basic and constant prices. Definitions and explanations: The EAA includes: + The value of crop output + The value of livestock production + Income from agricultural services = Total output - Intermediate consumption = Gross value added - Consumption of fixed capital = Net value added + Other subsidies on production = Factor income - Compensation of employees = Net operating surplus - Rent - Interest = Net entrepreneurial income Net value added of the agricultural primary production measures the value created by all the agricultural units after the consumption of fixed capital. Gross value added of the agricultural primary production measures the results of the production. It is the difference between the value output and the value of intermediate consumption.
      1. Agricultural households and legal entities that engage in agricultural activities, as primary, secondary or other activities.
      1. Depending on the available data sources, the statistical population includes Agricultural Households and Legal Entities, which during the agricultural year deal with agricultural activities (cultivating land with agricultural crops and raising cattle). For the period 2005-2009, 2012-2013, the source of data was the Agriculture Household Survey, which is conducted on the ground through a standard sample, two-stratification. For 2014, the data source was the Agriculture Census 2014, which was conducted on the ground as follows: rural households were visited door-to-door, while in urban areas only those households which during the Census 2011 have stated they deal with agricultural activities. For 2010-2011, EAA data were based on expert assessment, in the absence of data sources.
