Women and Men in Kosovo, 2018/2019

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the report on "Women and Men in Kosovo" in the years 2018/2019.

The statistical data presented in the publication "Women and Men in Kosovo, 2018/2019" are long-term and with short-term analyzes, which reflect the gender situation in Kosovo, by sectors of economic and social life.

All available data sources have been used to prepare this publication, by providing complete statistical information to assist in the perception of the gender situation.

The publication "Women and Men in Kosovo" is published every two years and contains the following chapters: Population, Health and Welfare, Education, Social Protection, Jurisprudence, Labor Market, Income and Decision Making.

The statistical information presented in the publication "Women and Men in Kosovo, 2018/2019" presents some important facts for some indicators: The masculinity coefficient was 110.6 for men and 100 for women (higher than the overall gender ratio of population); The average age of married for 2019 was 28 years for women and 31 years for men; Fertility data have dropped, compared to previous years from 3 children per woman in 2003, to 2 children per woman in 2019; The employment rate for women was 13.9%, while for men was 46.2%; and The unemployment rate in 2019 for women was 34.4% versus 22.6% for men.
