Women and Men in Kosovo, 2016-2017

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the report on "Women and Men in Kosovo" for the years 2016-2017.

The statistical data presented in the publication, "Women and Men in Kosovo, 2016-2017", are long-term and short-term analyzes that reflect the gender situation in Kosovo, according to economic and social life sectors.

For the compilation of this publication, all sources of available data have been used, by providing full statistical information to assist in the perception of the gender situation.

The publication "Women and Men in Kosovo" is published every two years and contains the following chapters: Population, Health and Welfare, Education, Social Protection, Jurisprudence, Labor Market, Income and Decision Making.

The statistical information presented in the publication, "Women and Men in Kosovo, 2016-2017", presents some important facts for some indicators: the masculinity coefficient was 111.2 males per 100 females (higher than the general report of the gender ratio of the population) ; The average age of married couples in 2017 was 28 years old for women and 32 years old for men; Fertility data has fallen, compared to previous years, by 3 children per woman in 2003, to 2 children per woman in 2017; The employment rate among women was 12.7%, while in men 46.6%; and the unemployment rate for women was 36.6%, while 28.7% for men.
