Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the "Wage Level in Kosovo" in 2021.

This publication contains data on average gross and net wage by sectors and economic activities in the public sector (Administration), public enterprises and the private sector in Kosovo.

In the public sector (wages paid from the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo) there is a decrease in gross and net wage, compared to the previous year, which came because in the previous year (2020) there were benefits of allowances in specific sectors. The data in the private sector do not include monthly salary additions because they are included in the annual turnover statement.

In 2021, the average gross wages in Kosovo were 484 Euros, while in 2020 it was 466 Euros. So, there was an increase of 18 Euros from the previous year. Whereas, the net wage in 2021 was 432 Euros, compared to 2020 which was 416 Euros, an increase of 16 Euros in 2021.

The average gross wage in the public sector in 2012 was 407 Euros, while in 2021 it was 612 Euros, increasing by 205 Euros, while the average net wage from 366 Euros, as it was in 2012, increased to 542 Euros in 2021. An increase by 176 Euros.

The average gross wage in the public enterprise sector in 2012 was 561 Euros, while in 2021 it was 768 Euros. Whereas, the average net wage from 502 Euros, as it was in 2012, increased to 680 Euros in 2021.

The average gross wage in the private sector in 2021 was 419 Euros, while in 2020 it was 380 Euros. So there was an increase by 39 Euros. Whereas, the average net wage in 2021 was 376 Euros, compared to 2020 which was 342 Euros. So, an increase by 34 Euros.

The highest wage level in Kosovo was in the sector of public enterprises, while the lowest wage was in the private sector.

The average gross wage in 2021, according to economic activities, was highest in: Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (949 Euros); and Information and communication (757 Euro). While, the lowest wage was for accommodation and food service activities (281 Euros).
