The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Wage Level in Kosovo" in 2020.

This publication contains data on average gross and net wage by sectors and economic activities in the Public Sector (Administration), Publicly Owned Enterprises and the Private Sector.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 and the measures taken by the Government, where as a consequence we have the closure and reduction of private sector activity, the average wage has declined, both in gross and net level. As in the private sector we have the highest number of employees in relation to the total number of employees in the country, which has affected the decline in average wages, both in gross and net level, in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

The data in the private sector do not include monthly salary additions because they are included in the annual turnover statement. While in the public sector (wages paid from the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo) there is a more pronounced increase in gross and net wage compared to previous years, which has come due to the benefit of allowances in specific sectors.

In 2020, the average gross wages in Kosovo were 466 Euros, while in 2019 they were 477 Euros. So, there was a decrease by 11 Euros from the previous year. Whereas, the net wage in 2020 was 416 Euros, compared to 2019 which was 430 Euros. So a drop by 14 Euros.
