Transport and Telecommunications Statistics, Q2 2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the “Transport and Telecommunications Statistics in the second quarter of 2021 (Q2 2021) with data on air, rail, road transport and telecommunications.
In the territory of Kosovo, there are a total of 333 km of railway tracks for transport.
In the second quarter of 2021, the number of passengers who have used the train as a means of travel was about 15 thousand, where compared to the second quarter of 2020, the number of passengers has increased by 123%. This is because last year, in the same reference period, passenger transport was banned due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The transport of goods (freight transport) by train in Q2 2021 was about 148 thousand tons, where compared to the same period of 2020 there is an increase by 2.7%.
In terms of the number of flights in Q2 2021 were 1 504 flights, which compared to the same period last year (Q2 2020) has increased.
The number of passengers who have used the aircraft as a means of transport in Q2 2021 was about 390 thousand, which compared to the same quarter last year (Q2 2020) has increased. This is also due to the Covid-19 pandemic, where in the same reference period, passenger transport was banned.
