At the meeting held on 22 November, 2022, the Committee for Public Administration, Local Government, Media and Regional Development has reviewed the Annual Report of Official Statistics for the year of 2021

The findings of the 2021 Annual Report of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) were justified by the Acting Chief Executive of KAS, Mr. Ilir T. Berisha. He emphasized that this Report was compiled according to the Work Plan of KAS and it presents the work and activity of the departments that operate within KAS. Mr. Berisha focused on the achievements and challenges faced by KAS during 2021, with special emphasis on the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the holding of national and local elections in Kosovo.

During this meeting, the questions of the members of the Commission were mainly focused on the Population Census which was planned to be conducted in 2021, and which is expected to happen in the autumn of 2023. In this regard, Mr. Berisha explained in detail the form and duration of this process, focusing also on the Census questionnaire. He said that "The questionnaire is already being finalized and that four types of the questionnaire will be developed: the individual questionnaire, the household questionnaire, the dwellings questionnaire, and the supplementary questionnaire for measuring the diaspora.

The debate between representatives of the Committee for Public Administration, Local Government, Media and Regional Development and representatives of KAS lasted around two hours.

Then, the 2021 Annual Report was put to the vote, where it was voted by a majority of votes. With the consent of both parties, the Report will be processed for a plenary session with some recommendations.
