Structural Business Survey Results, 2019
The Kosovo Statistics Office (KAS) has published the results of the Structural Business Survey in the reference year 2019
This publication, with the data it provides, aims to present some of the economic indicators according to the structure of economic activity.
According to the results of this publication, it results that according to economic sectors the largest number of enterprises belongs to: trade with 14 036 enterprises, or expressed in percentage 39.8%; business services and other services with 6 105 enterprises, or 17.3%; processing industry (manufacturing) 5 027 enterprises, or 14.3%; accommodation and food service activities with 3 979 enterprises, or 11.3%; construction with 3 318 enterprises, or 9.4%; information and communication with 1 249 enterprises, or 3.5%; transport and storage with 1 165 enterprises, or 3.3%; mining and quarrying with 194 enterprises, or 0.6%; water supply, sewerage, waste management and land revitalization activities with 123 enterprises, or 0.3%; as well as supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 73 enterprises, or 0.2%.
In in terms of employment for the economic sectors which were part of the research, it turns out that the total number of employees reaches the figure 186 316, of which the trade sector accounts for about 67 968 employees, or expressed in percentage, 36.5%; processing industry (manufacturing) 30 425 employees, or 16.3%; construction with 19 821 employees, or 10.6%; business services 16 918 employees, or 9.1%; accommodation and food service activities with 16 551 employees, or 8.9%; information and communication with 11 243 employees, or 6.0%; as well as other sectors have less than 5% employees.
Another characteristic that is worth mentioning is the turnover realized by enterprises, where trade dominates with a share of 54.3%, manufacturing (production) with 12.6%, construction with 10.0%, supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 6.6%, other services activities by 5.2% and other sectors of economic activities result in a lower percentage of turnover.
