The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Statistical Repertoire on Economic Enterprises in Kosovo in the third quarter 2020 (Q3 2020).

In the third quarter (Q3) of 2020, a total of 2 593 enterprises were registered. Compared to the previous quarter (Q2 2020) there is an increase by 27.54% of registered enterprises. Whereas, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q3 2019) there is an increase by 8.9% of registered enterprises.

Regarding the most preferred economic activities during this quarter were: Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles with 597 registered enterprises (23.02%); Manufacturing with 302 registered enterprises (11.65%); Accommodation and food service activities with 282 registered enterprises (10.88%); Agriculture, forestry and fishing with 257 registered enterprises (9.91%); Professional, scientific and technical activities with 235 registered enterprises (9.06%); Construction with 231 registered enterprises (8.91%), etc.

During this quarter, in the category with 1 to 4 employees were a total of 1 511 registered enterprises (96.8%); in the category with 5 to 9 employees were 51 of registered enterprises (2.0%); in the category with 10 to 19 employees were 24 registered enterprises (0.9%); in the category with 20 to 249 employees were 7 registered enterprises (0.3%); while in the category with 250 and more employees, there is no registered enterprise.

Regarding the geographical distribution of registered enterprises at the municipal level, as in every quarter, the municipality of Prishtina dominates with 771 registered enterprises (29.7%); Prizren with 197 registered enterprises (7.6%); Ferizaj with 186 registered enterprises (7.2%); Peja with 141 registered enterprises (5.4%); Gjilan with 129 registered enterprises (5.0%); and Gjakova with 114 registered enterprises (4.4%). While, other municipalities have a smaller number of enterprises registered in this quarter.
