The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Statistical Repertoire on Economic Enterprises in Kosovo in the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020).

In Q2 2020, a total of 2 033 enterprises were registered. Compared to the previous quarter (Q1 2020) there is a decrease by (-12.03%) of registered enterprises. Whereas, compared the Q2 2020 with the same quarter of the previous year (Q2 2019) there is a decrease by (-23.4%) of registered enterprises.

In terms of economic activities, the most preferred during this quarter were: wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles with 488 registered enterprises (24%); construction with 328 registered enterprises (16.1%); manufacturing with 309 registered enterprises (15.2%); accommodation and food service activities with 191 registered enterprises (9.4%); professional, scientific and technical activities with 189 registered enterprises (9.3%), etc.

In this quarter, in the category with 1 to 4 employees are a total of 1 963 registered enterprises (96.6%); with 5 to 9 employees are 53 registered enterprises (2.6%); with 10 to 19 employees are 11 registered enterprises (0.5%); with 20 to 249 employees are 6 registered enterprises (0.3%); while in the category with 250 and more employees there are no enterprises registered in this quarter.

Regarding the geographical extent of registered enterprises at the municipal level, the Municipality of Prishtina leads with 551 registered enterprises (27.1%); Ferizaj with 164 registered enterprises (8.1%); Prizren with 153 registered enterprises (7.5%); Peja with 127 registered enterprises (6.2%); Gjilan with 110 registered enterprises (5.4%); and Gjakova with 108 registered enterprises (5.3%), while other municipalities have a smaller number of enterprises registered in this quarter.
