Statistical Repertoire of Enterprises in Kosovo, Q4 2016

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) publishes Statistical Repertoire of Enterprises in Kosovo for the fourth quarter (Q4) 2016.

In the fourth quarter of 2016 (Q4 2016) were registered 2 251 enterprises.

Compared with the previous quarter (Q3 2016) there is a 9.1% decline of registered enterprises.

Compared to the same quarter last year (Q4 2015) there is also a decrease to 9.2% of registered enterprises.

However, compared with the previous year (2015) there was an increase of 6.0% of registered enterprises in 2016.

Favourite economic activities during this quarter were trade with 587 enterprises registered (26.1%); manufacturing with 246 registered enterprises (10.9%); agriculture, forestry and fisheries with 234 registered enterprises (10.4%); accommodation and food service activities with 210 registered enterprises (9.3%); professional, scientific and technical registered enterprises 179 (8.0%); and construction with 177 registered enterprises (7.9%). While other activities participate in smaller scale.

Category of number of employees 1 to 4 employees constitutes 2 170 enterprises or 96.4% of registered enterprises; category of number of employees 5 to 9 with 54 registered enterprises or 2.4%; category of number of employees 10 to 19 with 19 registered enterprises or 0.8%; category of number of employees with 20 to 249 employees with 8 registered enterprises or 0.4%; while the 250+ category has no registered enterprises in this quarter.

Regarding the geographical scope of enterprises registered at the municipal level, as in every quarter, prevails Prishtina with 625 registered enterprises (27.8%); Ferizaj with 196 registered enterprises (8.7%); Prizren with 163 registered enterprises (7.2%); Gjilan with 123 registered enterprises (5.5%); Peja with 103 registered enterprises (4.6%). While other municipalities have a smaller number of enterprises registered in this quarter.
