In the first quarter of 2019, a total of 2 404 enterprises were registered. Compared to this quarter with the previous quarter (Q4 2018) there is an increase by 0.1% of registered enterprises. Meanwhile, compared the Q1 2019 with the same quarter last year (Q1 2018) there is a decrease by -5.9% of registered enterprises.

The most favored economic activities during this quarter were: wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles with 596 registered enterprises (24.8%); manufacturing with 277 registered enterprises (11.5%); professional, scientific and technical activities with 253 registered enterprises (10.5%); accommodation and food service activities with 240 registered enterprises (10.0%); construction with 232 registered enterprises (9.7%); while other activities take part in the smaller scale.

During this quarter, there are 2 314 registered enterprises (96.3%) in the category of employees from 1 to 4; in the category of 5 to 9 employees there are 61 registered enterprises (2.5%); in the category of 10 to 19 employees there are 20 registered enterprises (0.8%); in the category of 20 to 249 employees are 8 registered enterprises (0.3%); and in the category of 250 or more employees there are one (1) registered enterprises.

Regarding the geographic extent of the enterprises registered at the municipal level, as in every quarter, the municipality of Prishtina prevails with 759 registered enterprises (31.6%); Ferizaj with 183 registered enterprises (7.6%); Prizren with 175 registered enterprises (7.3%); Peja with 146 registered enterprises (6.1%); Gjilan with 134 registered enterprises (5.6%); and Fushe Kosova with 100 registered enterprises (5.1%). Whereas, other municipalities have smaller numbers.
