Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published “Social Welfare Statistics” in Q4 2020.

This publication provides data on the number of beneficiaries of the social assistance scheme, the basic age pension scheme, age-contribution-payer pension, pension scheme for persons with special needs / disabilities, the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic, the scheme for material support for families with children with permanent special needs,  family pension scheme, disability pension scheme, pension scheme for families of martyrs, war invalids and war veterans, “Trepca” pension scheme, pension scheme for the Kosovo Protection Corps, pension scheme of the Kosovo Security Forces, the compensation scheme for blind persons, data on the number of abandoned children, etc.

According to the results of this publication, it results that from the social assistance scheme have benefited 25 679 families with a total of 103 189 members; and 2 436 families have benefited from the scheme for material support for families with children with special needs.

Meanwhile the basic age pension scheme has 142 280 beneficiaries; age pension contribution scheme has 49 451 beneficiaries; the family pension scheme has 3 712 beneficiaries; the scheme for disability pensions has  81 beneficiaries; the Trepça pension scheme has 2 341 beneficiaries; the Kosovo Protection Corps pension scheme has 1 166 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for the Kosovo Security Force has 583 beneficiaries; the compensation scheme for blind persons has 1 848 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for persons with special needs has 19 266 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic persons has 2 797 beneficiaries - the scheme for families of martyrs and war invalids has 13 550 beneficiaries and the scheme for war veterans has 38 216 beneficiaries.

In Q4 2020 there were 5 abandoned children.
