Social Welfare Statistics, Q3 2019

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published “Social Welfare Statistics” in Q3 2019.

This publication provides data on the number of beneficiaries of the social assistance scheme, the basic age pension scheme, age-contribution-payer pension, pension scheme for persons with special needs / disabilities, the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic, the scheme for material support for families with children with permanent special needs,  family pension scheme, disability pension scheme, pension scheme for families of martyrs, war invalids and war veterans, “Trepca” pension scheme, pension scheme for the Kosovo Protection Corps, pension scheme of the Kosovo Security Forces, the compensation scheme for blind persons, data on the number of abandoned children, etc.

According to the results of this publication, it results that from the social assistance scheme have benefited 24 526 families with a total of 9 718 members; and 2 193 families have benefited from the scheme for material support for families with children with special needs.

Meanwhile the basic age pension scheme has 131 461 beneficiaries; age pension contribution scheme has 46 980 beneficiaries; the family pension scheme has 3 903 beneficiaries; the scheme for disability pensions has  106  beneficiaries; the Trepça pension scheme has 2 697 beneficiaries; the Kosovo Protection Corps pension scheme has 1 084 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for the Kosovo Security Force has 542  beneficiaries; the compensation scheme for blind persons has 1 932 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for persons with special needs has 17 883 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic persons has 3 107 beneficiaries.

Whereas, the scheme for families of martyrs and war invalids has 13 417 beneficiaries and the scheme for war veterans has 38 120 beneficiaries.

In Q3 2019 there were 7 abandoned children.
