The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the “Social Welfare Statistic” for the month of May 2022.

Based on the Annual Plan of Official Statistics 2022, the release of "Social Welfare Statistics" will continue to be released as a regular monthly publication. This publication provides data on the number of beneficiaries of the social assistance scheme, the basic age pension scheme, age-contribution-payer pension, pension scheme for persons with special needs / disabilities, the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic, the scheme for material support for families with children with permanent special needs,  family pension scheme, disability pension scheme, pension scheme for families of martyrs, war invalids and war veterans, “Trepca” pension scheme, pension scheme for the Kosovo Protection Corps, pension scheme of the Kosovo Security Forces, the compensation scheme for blind persons, data on the number of abandoned children, etc.

According to the results of this publication, it results that in the month of May 2022: from the social assistance scheme have benefited 25 482 families with a total of 100 608 members; and 2 648 families have benefited from the scheme for material support for families with children with special needs.

Meanwhile the basic age pension scheme has 149 794 beneficiaries; age pension contribution scheme has 49 975 beneficiaries; the family pension scheme has 3 372 beneficiaries; the scheme for disability pensions has 64 beneficiaries; the Trepça pension scheme has 1 899 beneficiaries; the Kosovo Protection Corps pension scheme has 1 249 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for the Kosovo Security Force has 657 beneficiaries; the compensation scheme for blind persons has 1 776 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for persons with special needs has 18 081 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic persons has 2 277 beneficiaries - the scheme for families of martyrs and war invalids has 13 213 beneficiaries and the scheme for war veterans has 36 907 beneficiaries.

In the month of May 2022 there were 4 abandoned children.
