The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has started to release the Social Welfare Statistic on a monthly basis (January – February 2022).

Based on the Annual Plan of Official Statistics 2022, "Social Welfare Statistics" from the release on a quarterly basis will continue to be released on a monthly basis and will continue as a regular monthly publication.

This publication provides data on the number of beneficiaries of the social assistance scheme, the basic age pension scheme, age-contribution-payer pension, pension scheme for persons with special needs / disabilities, the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic, the scheme for material support for families with children with permanent special needs,  family pension scheme, disability pension scheme, pension scheme for families of martyrs, war invalids and war veterans, “Trepca” pension scheme, pension scheme for the Kosovo Protection Corps, pension scheme of the Kosovo Security Forces, the compensation scheme for blind persons, data on the number of abandoned children, etc.

According to the results of this publication, it results that in February 2022: from the social assistance scheme have benefited 25 811 families with a total of 102 333 members; and 2 431 families have benefited from the scheme for material support for families with children with special needs.

Meanwhile the basic age pension scheme has 148 020 beneficiaries; age pension contribution scheme has 49 746 beneficiaries; the family pension scheme has 3 506 beneficiaries; the scheme for disability pensions has 69 beneficiaries; the Trepça pension scheme has 1 990 beneficiaries; the Kosovo Protection Corps pension scheme has 1 233 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for the Kosovo Security Force has 630 beneficiaries; the compensation scheme for blind persons has 1 725 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for persons with special needs has 17 737 beneficiaries; the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegic persons has 2 697 beneficiaries - the scheme for families of martyrs and war invalids has 13 250 beneficiaries and the scheme for war veterans has 37 015 beneficiaries.

While 4 children were abandoned during the months of January - February 2022.
