Social Welfare Statistics, 2018
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the "Social Welfare Statistics" in 2018.
This publication provides data on the number of beneficiaries from the scheme of social assistance, the basic pension-age scheme, the pension of savings from contributions, the pension scheme for persons with special needs, the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegia persons, the scheme for material support for families with children with permanent special needs, family pension scheme, disability pension scheme, pension scheme for families of martyrs, war invalids and war veterans, “Trepça” pension scheme, pension scheme for Kosovo Protection Corps, pension scheme for Kosovo Security Force, the compensation scheme for blind persons, data on the number of abandoned children, and so on.
According to the results of this publication, it results that from the scheme of social assistance have benefited 25 345 families with a total of 103 409 members; and from the scheme for material support to families with children with special needs have benefited 2 206 families.
Meanwhile, from the pension schemes it results that there are 126 888 beneficiaries from the basic pension scheme are; there are 45 391 beneficiaries from the savings from contributions pension scheme; there are 4 031 beneficiaries from the family pension scheme; there are 101 beneficiaries from the scheme for disability pensions; there are 2 950 beneficiaries from the “Trepça” pension scheme; there are 817 beneficiaries from the Kosovo Protection Corps pension scheme; there are 482 beneficiaries from the Kosovo Security Force pension scheme; there are 2 021 beneficiaries from the compensation scheme for blind persons; there are 17 998 beneficiaries from the pension scheme for persons with special needs; there are 2 986 beneficiaries from the pension scheme for paraplegic and tetraplegia persons.
Whereas, there are 13 138 beneficiaries from the pension scheme for the families of martyrs and war invalids and 38 345 beneficiaries from the pension scheme for war veterans.
The number of children abandoned in 2018 was 28.
