The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the Short-term Retail Trade Statistics for the month of February 2023.

This publication presents data on turnover and the number of employees.

In the month of February 2023, the turnover index, compared to the same month of the previous year (February 2022), according to the economic activity, there was an increase in: Retail trade not in stores (by mail or online) (59.36%); Retail trade not in shops, stalls or markets (35.38%); Retail trade of other goods in specialized stores (16.67%); Retail trade of food products, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores (11.56%); Retail trade in non-specialized stores (8.43%); and Retail trade of other household appliances in specialized stores (4.48%).

Whereas, there was a decrease in: Retail trade of IT and communication equipment in specialized stores (-1.07%); Retail trade of cultural and entertainment goods in specialized stores (-1.65%); and Retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles in specialized stores (-1.88%).

Meanwhile, the index of the number of employees, compared to the same month of the previous year, by economic activity, had an increase in: Retail trade of other goods in specialized stores (3.49%); and Retail trade of IT and communication equipment in specialized stores (2.98%).

Whereas, there was a decrease in: Retail trade of other household appliances in specialized stores (-0.06%); Retail trade not in stores (by mail or online) (-1.98%); Retail trade of food products, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores (-2.21%); Retail trade in non-specialized stores (-2.54%); Retail trade of cultural and entertainment goods in specialized stores (-9.69%); Retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles in specialized stores (-11.92%); and Retail trade not in shops, stalls or markets (-25.29%).
