The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released Short-term Industry Statistics by presenting the industrial volume index in Q4 2021 (2017 = 100).

With the data it provides, this survey aims to present the performance in the industry: B – Mining and Quarrying, C – Manufacturing, D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and E - Water supply, sewerage waste management and remediation activities, in quarterly periods in order to understand the cycle of development in the industry.

In the fourth quarter of 2021 (Q4 2021), compared to the third quarter of 2021 (Q3 2021), there was an increase in the manufacturing sector (C) by 7.83%; in the sectors of water supply, waste management and treatment activities (E) by 4.96%. Whereas, there was a decrease in: the extractive industry sector (B) by (-37.84%); and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector (D) by (-10.45%).

Compared the Q4 2021 with the same period of (Q4 2020), there was an increase in the sector of water supply, waste management and treatment activities (E) by 49.05% and manufacturing sector (C) by 28.31%. While there was a decrease in: the extractive industry sector (B) by (-33.82%) and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector (D) by (-6.83%).
