The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS has published Short-term Industry Statistics by presenting the Industrial Volume Index in the second quarter (Q2) 2018 (2017 = 100).

With the data that provides, this survey aims to present the performance in the industry (B – Mining and Quarrying, C – Manufacturing, D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and E - Water supply, sewerage waste management and remediation activities) in quarterly periods, through which to understand the development in the industry cycle.

In the second quarter of 2018, compared to the first quarter (Q1) 2018, the mining industry (B) increased by 65.96% and the manufacturing industry (C) by 36.90%. Meanwhile, there was a decline in the sector of water supply, waste management and treatment (E) for (-21.55%) and in the sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-21.42%).

Compared to Q2 2018 with the same quarter of the previous year (Q2 2017), the mining industry (B) increased by 9.93%; activities of water supply, waste management and treatment (E) by 5.0%; and the manufacturing industry (C) by 0.11%. Whereas, there has been a drop in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (D) by (-9.3%).
