The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the results of “Short-term Industry Statistics” by presenting the Industrial Volume Index in Q1 2020 (2017 = 100).

With the data that provides, this survey aims to present the performance in the industry: B – Mining and Quarrying, C – Manufacturing, D – Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and E - Water supply, sewerage waste management and remediation activities, in quarterly periods, in order to understand the cycle of development in the industry.

In the first quarter of 2020, compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, there was an increase in the sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (D), by 2.79%. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in: the sector of extractive industry (B) by 32.27%; sector of manufacturing industry (C) by 33.73%; Water supply, sewerage waste management and remediation activities (E) by 11.39%.

Compared the Q1 2020 with the same quarter of the previous year (Q1 2019), there was an increase in: the sector of extractive industry (B) by 38.53%; the sector of electricity, gas and air conditioning supply (D) by 3.67%; the sector of manufacturing industry (C) by 2.14%. While there was a decrease in the sector of water supply, waste management activities (E) by 2.00%.
