Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the results of Municipal Waste Survey (MWS) for 2015.

Results of MWS 2015 show that the amount of municipal waste collected in Kosovo in 2015 was 319 034 tons.

The 2015 data show that the average municipal waste collected was 177 kg per capita per year. As regards the regions of Kosovo, there is a significant difference between the Prishtina region and other regions, as for example in other regions in Kosovo the amount of municipal waste collected was 163 kg per capita per year, and while in the region of Prishtina was 214 kg per capita per year.

In Pristina and its region, collection of municipal waste was 0.59 kg per day per resident.

In other regions of Kosovo, the amount of municipal waste generated per resident per day was 0.45 kg.

Meanwhile, in Kosovo, the average waste collected per resident per day was 0.48 kg.
