The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the third quarter of 2021 (Q3 2021).

The total producer price index in Kosovo increased by 4.4% in Q3 2021, compared to Q2 2021. The largest increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (13.4%); manufacture of furniture (7.2%); manufacture of metal (5.3%); manufacture of electrical equipment (4.0%); manufacture of machinery and equipment (3.4%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials  (2.3%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (1.1%); metal ore extraction (0.7%); processing of foodstuff products (0.7%); and manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (0.3%).

The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (-2.1%); manufacture of papers and articles thereof (-1.2%); production of beverages (-0.6%); and other ores and quarries (-0.4%).

Compared the Q3 2021 to Q3 2020, producer prices rose by an average of 6.9%. The largest increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (17.0%); manufacture of metal (12.1%); manufacture of furniture (9.0%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (4.7%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (4.7%); metal ore extraction (4.2%); manufacture of electrical equipment (4.1%); manufacture of machinery and equipment (3.7%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (2.6%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials  (2.5%); processing of foodstuff products (1.3%); water collection, treatment and supply (0.7%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (0.4%); and manufacture of chemical products (0.3%).

The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: manufacture of leather and articles thereof (-3.3%); ores and other quarries (-0.8%); production of beverages (-0.2%); and manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (-0.1%).
