Producer Price Index, Q2 2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Producer Price Index (CPI) in the second quarter of 2021 (Q2 2021).
The total producer price index in Kosovo increased by 0.4% in Q2 2021, compared to Q1 2021. The largest increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: manufacture of furniture (7.2%); manufacture of chemical products (3.5%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (2.3%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (2.0%); manufacture of leather and articles thereof (1.5%); processing of foodstuff products (1.1%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (1.0%); water collection, treatment and supply (0.8%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (0.6%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (0.5%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (0.4%); production of beverages (0.3%); and other ores and quarries (0.1%).
The increase was counteracted by the decrease of in prices of: metal ore extraction (-7.7%); manufacture of electrical equipment (-3.2%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-1.4%); and manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t (-0.8%).
Compared the Q2 2021 to Q2 2020, producer prices rose by an average of 3.6%. The largest increases according to the branches of economic activities are observed in: extraction of metal ore (39.2%); manufacture of metal (6.4%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (5.9%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (5.0%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (2.5%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (1.9%); manufacture of furniture (1.7%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (1.5%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (1.3%); production of beverages (1.2%); food processing (0.9%); water collection, treatment and supply (0.7%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t (0.2%); and manufacture of electrical equipment (0.1%).
The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of manufacture of leather and articles thereof (-1.6%); ores and other quarries (-0.7%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (-0.3%); and manufacture of chemical products (-0.2%).
