The Kosovo Agency of Statistics has released the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the fourth quarter (Q4) 2022.

The total index of producer prices in Kosovo decreased by (-13.7%) between Q4 2022 and Q3 2022. The largest decreases, according to branches of economic activity, are observed in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (- 42.8%); manufacture of electrical equipment (-6.6%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.c.t. (-6.0%); manufacture of leather products and articles thereof (-4.4%); manufacture of wood and cork products, except furniture: manufacture of straw articles and interwoven materials - knitting (-1.8%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (-1.4%); production of beverages (-0.5%); and processing of food products (-0.2%).

The decrease was counteracted by the increase in prices of: ores and other quarries (16.6%); metal ore extraction (10.5%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (8.5%); manufacture of furniture (6.3%); manufacture of chemical products (3.0%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (1.2%); manufacture of metal (0.7%); fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (0.6%); and manufacture of paper and articles thereof (0.2%).

Meanwhile, comparing Q4 2022 with Q4 2021, producer prices increased by an average of 0.6%. The largest increases according to branches of economic activities are observed in: ores and other quarries (16.6%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (15.0%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (8.9%); processing of food products (7.9%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (7.2%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (6.5%); manufacture of wood and cork products, except furniture: manufacture of straw articles and interwoven materials - knitting (6.4%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (6.3%); manufacture of metal (5.2%); manufacture of chemical products (4.3%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.c.t. (4.3%); water collection, treatment and supply (3.8%); production of beverages (3.6%); manufacture of furniture (1.8%); manufacture of electrical equipment (1.4%); and manufacture of leather and articles thereof (0.8%).

The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-15.2%); and metal ore extraction (-4.4%).
