Producer Price Index (PPI), Q4 2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the data of the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the fourth quarter of 2021 (Q4 2021).
The total producer price index in Kosovo increased by 0.6% in Q4 2021, compared to Q3 2021. The largest increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: processing of foodstuff products (5.6%); manufacture of electrical equipment (2.7%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (2.2%); manufacture of metal (1.6%); beverage production (1.6%); ores and other quarries (1.5%); manufacture of chemical products (1.4%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (1.0%); and manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (0.9%).
The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: metal ore extraction (-17.7%); manufacture of furniture (-3.2%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t (-2.5%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-1.2%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (-0.7%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (-0.4%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-0.2%); and production of leather and articles thereof (-0.1%).
Meanwhile, compared the Q4 2021 to Q4 2020, producer prices rose by an average of 7.2%. The largest increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (16.2,%); manufacture of metal (13.1%); processing of foodstuff products (7.3%); manufacture of furniture (6.0%); manufacture of electrical equipment (5.5%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (4.8%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (4.4%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (2.7%); manufacture of chemical products (2.6%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (2.1%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (1.6%); production of beverages (1.2%); manufacture of leather and articles thereof (1.0%); ores and other quarries (1.0%); water collection, treatment and supply (0.7%); and manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t (0.4%).
The rise was counteracted by the decrease of the prices of: metal ore mining (-5.6%).
