Producer Price Index (PPI), Q3 2020

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the third quarter of 2020 (Q3 2020)

Total producer price index in Kosovo increased by 1.3% in Q3 2020, compared to Q2 2020. Larger increases by branches of economic activities are observed in: metal ore extraction (44.4%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (2.6%); manufacture of leather and articles thereof (1.8%); production of beverages (0.8%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (0.6%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (0.5%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (0.4%); food processing (0.4%); and manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials  (0.1%).

The increase was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-1.0%); manufacture of chemical products (-0.5%); ores and other quarries (-0.3%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (-0.1%); and manufacture of furniture (-0.1%).

Meanwhile, compared the Q3 2020 with Q3 2019, producer prices decreased by an average of (-0.8%). Larger decreases by branches of economic activities are observed in: manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (-5.0%); manufacture of metal (-4.9%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t (-4.6%); manufacture of furniture (-4.4%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-2.7%); production of beverages (-2.5%); manufacture of paper and articles thereof (-0.5%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.5%); and food processing (-0.5%).

               

The decrease was counteracted by increase of prices in: manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (12.9%); manufacture of leather and articles thereof (8.5%); manufacture of wood and articles thereof and cork, other than furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials  (4.2%); metal ore extraction (3.9%); manufacture of chemical products (3.0%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (2.2%); manufacture of electrical equipment (1.5%); and other ores and quarries (0.6%).
