Producer Price Index (PPI), Q3 2016

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Producer Price Index" (CPI) for the third quarter (Q3) 2016.

The overall index of producer prices in Kosovo is higher for 0.4%, compared to Q2 2016 and Q3 2016. The largest increases by economic activity has been observed to: manufacture of metals (7.4%); manufacture of electrical equipment (3.5%); metal ore extraction (1.3%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.7%); manufacture of furniture (0.2%); manufacture of rubber products and plastics (0.2%); and collection, treatment and water supply (0.1%).

The increase was counteracted by decreases of: manufacture of chemical products (-2.4%); production of beverages (-1.6%); production of food products (-1.0%); production of non-metallic mineral products (-0.8%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-0.7%); and production of wood and its products and cork, except furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (-0.5%).

However, compared Q3 2016 to 2015 Q3 producer prices were down by an average (-4.9%). The largest decreases by economic activity were to: manufacture of motor vehicles (transport) trailers and semi-trailers (-12.9%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-16.0%); production of non-metallic mineral products (-7.2%); production of chemical products (-2.6%); manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (-2.5%); production of beverages (-1.4%); metal ore extraction (-0.8%); other ores and quarrying (-0.7%); and manufacture of furniture (-0.7%).

The decrease was counteracted by rising prices of: manufacture of metals (5.4%); manufacture of electrical equipment (3.1%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (2.1%); manufacture of machinery and equipment p.k.t. (1.9%); production of leather and leather products from (1.9%); collection, treatment and water supply (1.3%); production of food products (0.5%); and manufacture of rubber products and plastics (0.2%).
