Producer Price Index (PPI), Q2 2022

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics has released the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the second quarter (Q2) 2022.

The total producer price index in Kosovo increased by 0.7% in Q2 2022 compared to Q1 2022. Compared to Q2 2021, producer prices increased by an average of 10.0%.

Producer prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 0.7% between Q2 2022 and Q1 2022. The largest increase by branches of economic activity are observed in: metal ore extraction (8.3%), manufacture of paper and articles thereof (5.6%), manufacture of leather and articles thereof (5.4%), manufacture of wood and wood and cork products, except furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaited materials (5.3%), production of beverages (2.9%), production of non-metallic mineral products (2.4%), production of food products (2.2%), manufacture of chemical products (1.2%), other ores and quarries (0.9%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.6%) manufacturing of rubber and plastic products (0.4%).

The rise was counteracted by the decrease in prices of: motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (-6.1%), manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-2.9%), manufacture of furniture (-2.4%), manufacture of metals (-1.3%) and manufacture of machinery and equipment (-1.3%).

Producer prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 10.0%, between Q2 2022 and Q2 2021. The largest increase by branches of economic activity are observed in: food processing (16.0%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (15.6%), manufacture of wood and wood and cork products, except furniture: manufacture of straw and plaited materials (13.2%), manufacture of metals (13.1%), manufacture of electrical equipment (9.7%), manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (7.9%), manufacture of paper and articles thereof (7.1%), manufacture of rubber and plastic products (7.0%), manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (6.7%), manufacture of leather and articles thereof (5.3%), manufacture of machinery and equipment n.c.t. (5.0%), production of beverages (4.9%), manufacture of furniture (4.2%), collection, treatment and water supply (3.8%), production of chemical products (3.6%), manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (1.8%) and other ores and quarries (1.5%).

The increase was counteracted by the decrease in metal ore extraction (-8.9%).
