Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the "Output Price Index and Prices in Agriculture" for the third quarter (Q3 2017) (2010 = 100).

In order to make comparisons and to observe the changes, here are presented data for the third quarters of 2010-2017, and the base year 2010.

This publication is based on the collection of prices of agricultural products in national level in Kosovo. Data collection has been made on the market, farms and other places where agricultural product prices can be collected.

The products that make up the base for the agricultural product price index are divided into two main groups: Plant and livestock products. Within plant products, prices have been collected for these groups: cereals, forage plants, vegetables, potatoes and fruits.

In livestock products prices have been collected for livestock and livestock products. Within livestock, prices are collected for four categories of animals: cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. These prices are based on live weight of animals. Within livestock products, prices are collected for: milk, eggs and honey. All prices are calculated in Euros and the units are in kilograms, liters and pieces.

In the third quarter of 2017, livestock products prices rose by 1.33% compared to the same period of 2016, while the price index of plant products increased by 0.99%.

Thus, the total index of agricultural outputs has increased by 1.13% compared with the same period of 2016.
