Output Price Index and Prices in Agriculture, Q2 2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the "Output Price Index and Prices in Agriculture" in the second quarter of 2021 (Q2 2021) (2015 = 100).
KAS has changed the base year of the index from 2010 = 100 to 2015 = 100 according to the methodology of Eurostat.
This publication is based on the collection of prices of local agricultural outputs in Kosovo. Data collection is done in the market, farms and other places where prices of agricultural outputs can be collected.
The outputs which form the basis for the price index of agricultural outputs are divided into two main groups: Crop outputs and livestock or animal outputs. Within crop outputs, prices are aggregated for the following groups: cereals, fodder crops, vegetables, potatoes and fruits. In livestock outputs prices are aggregated for animal and animal outputs. Within livestock, prices are collected for four categories of animals: cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. These prices are based on the live weight of the animals. Within livestock outputs, prices have been collected for: milk, eggs and honey. All prices are calculated in Euro and the units of measurement are: kg, liter and piece.
In the second quarter of 2021, the price index of livestock outputs decreased by (-8.64%), while the price index of crop outputs decreased by (-5.86%). compared to the same period of 2020.
The total index of agricultural outputs decreased by (-7.80%) compared to the same period of 2020.
