The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released preliminary data[1] on a monthly basis for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces in March 2022. These data are published based on administrative data.

According to the legal provisions on managing of basic registers books for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces, cases are mandatory to be registered in the above-mentioned registers, in the place where the event took place, regardless of the fact that the persons related to the event have permanent residence in that place or anywhere else.

In the month of March, a total of 2 132 births were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of these registered births, 1 096 of births are male and 1 036 of births are female.

Whereas a total of 867 deaths were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of the recorded deaths, 492 cases are male and 375 cases are female.

In the month of March 2022, a total of 1 442 marriages were registered (inside and outside Kosovo).

In the month March 2022 were registered 103 cases of divorces.

KAS will continue to collect data through special statistical questionnaires: for Births DEM-1, Deaths DEM-2, Marriages DEM-3, and Divorces SHK-1, during this calendar year, as before. Data collection continues on a monthly basis and will serve to create the database and to compare it with administrative data.

The data source of this Bulletin is the Kosovo Civil Registration Agency (KCRA).
