International Trade Statistics, October 2020

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published data on export and import flows for October 2020

Data on the Kosovo International Trade of Goods indicate a lower trade deficit for (-5.5%) in October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, respectively in the amount of 267.0 million Euros, compared to the deficit of 282.7 million Euros in 2019. Exports cover imports by 15.9%.

Exports of goods in October 2020 were worth 50.6 million Euros, while imports 317.6 million Euros, which is an increase of 56.6% for exports and 1.0% for imports, compared to the same period in 2019.

According to the data of the main groups for export: 32.8% of exports are base metals and articles thereof; 12.3% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 11.0% comprise various manufactured items; 9.0% are plant products; 8.8% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 6.0% are mineral products; 5.4% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc.

According to the data of the main groups for import: 12.1% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 11.5% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 11.3% are base metals and articles thereof; 10.5% are mineral products; 9.0% are vehicles; 9.0% are products of the chemical industry; 7.2% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof, etc.

Kosovo's exports to EU countries amounted to 16.8 million Euros, or about 33.2% of total exports, with an increase of 26.6%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Germany (9.5%), Italy (7.5%), the Netherlands (3.6%), etc.
