The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data on the flow of export and import in goods in November 2021.

Data from the Kosovo International Trade in goods indicate a higher trade deficit by 38.9% in November 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, respectively in the amount of 361.1 million Euros, compared to the deficit of 259.9 million Euros in 2020. Exports cover imports by 16.4%.

Exports of goods in November 2021 were worth 70.6 million Euros, while imports 431.8 million Euros, which is an increase by 54.4% for exports and 41.2% for imports, compared to the same period of 2020.

According to the data of the main groups for export, 26.6% are base metals and articles thereof; 23.9% are miscellaneous manufactured articles; 12.5% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 8.9% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 6.2% are mineral products; 3.9% are plant products; 3.0% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc.

Whereas, according to the data of the main groups for import, it consists of: 14.1 mineral products; 13.7% machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 13.5% base metals and articles thereof; 11.5% prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 7.7% plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 7.7% means of transport; 6.1% products of chemical industry, etc.

Kosovo's exports to EU countries (27) amounted to 19.3 million Euros, or about 27.3% of total exports, with an increase of 18.1%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Germany (9.8%), Italy (3.7%), Bulgaria (2.5%), etc.

Kosovo's imports from EU countries (27) were around 190.0 million Euros, or 44.0% of total imports, with an increase of 39.0%. The main import partners were Germany (11.7%), Italy (8.0%), Greece (4.2%), Slovenia (4.1%), etc.

In November 2021, Kosovo's exports to CEFTA countries amounted to 24.5 million Euros, or 34.8% of total exports, with an increase by 35.4%. The main export partners from CEFTA countries were: Albania (13.0%), North Macedonia (12.0%), Serbia (6.0%), and Montenegro (2.9%).

Imports from CEFTA countries, in November 2021, amounted to 85.2 million Euros, or 19.7% of total imports, with an increase by 32.8%. The countries with the highest share of imports were: Albania (6.7%), Serbia (6.6%), and North Macedonia (5.1%).

Kosovo's exports to other countries of the world amounted to 26.7 million Euros, or 37.9%. The most important export partners from these countries are: USA (20.2%), and Switzerland (7.5%).

Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world amounted to 156.6 million Euros, or 36.3%. The countries with the highest share of imports in this group were: Turkey (13.2%) and China (9.3%).
