International Trade Statistics, June 2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published data on the flow of export and import in June 2021.
Data on the Kosovo International Trade in goods indicate a higher trade deficit by 30.1% in June 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, respectively in the amount of 320.3 million Euros, compared to the deficit of 246.2 million Euro in 2020. Exports cover imports by 18.5%.
Exports of goods in June 2021 were worth 72.9 million Euros, while imports 393.2 million Euros, which is an increase by 63.5% for exports and 35.2% for imports, compared to the same period of 2020.
According to the data of the main groups for export: 36.7% of exports are base metals and articles thereof; 17.3% comprise various manufactured articles; 9.9% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 8.1% are mineral products; 7.5% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 4.4% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc.
While according to the data of the main groups for import: 12.7% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12.1% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 11.9% are mineral products; 11.0% are base metals and articles thereof; 10.0% are vehicles; 7.9% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 7.4% are products of the chemical industry, etc.
Kosovo's exports to EU countries amounted to 23.5 million Euros, or about 32.3% of total exports, with an increase by 43.5%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Italy (8.5%), Germany (7.1%), the Netherlands (3.3%), etc.
Kosovo's imports from EU countries were around 170.2 million Euros, or 43.3% of total imports, with an increase by 30.5%. The main import partners were Germany (12.8%), Italy (6.1%), Greece (3.7%), Poland (3.0%), etc.
In June 2021, Kosovo's exports to CEFTA countries amounted to 29.0 million Euros, or 39.9% of total exports, with an increase by 41.3%. The main export partners from CEFTA countries were: North Macedonia (14.5%), Albania (13.5%), Serbia (6.0%), and Montenegro (4.3%).
Imports from CEFTA countries, in June 2021, amounted to 78.9 million Euros, or 20.1% of total imports, with an increase by 31.0%. The countries with the highest share of imports were: Albania (6.5%), Serbia (6.4%), and North Macedonia (5.2%).
Kosovo's exports to other countries of the world amounted to 20.3 million Euros, or 27.9%. The most important export partners of these countries are: USA (12.2%), and Switzerland (8.2%).
Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world amounted to 144.1 million Euros, or 36.7%. The countries with the highest share of imports in this group were: Turkey (14.7%) and China (9.6%).
