The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data on the flow of export and importin goods in December 2021.

Data from the Kosovo International Trade in goods indicate a higher trade deficit by 27.8% in December 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, respectively in the amount of 394.9 million Euros, compared to the deficit of 309.1 million Euros in 2020. Exports cover imports by 14.1%.

Exports of goods in December 2021 were worth 65.0 million Euros, while imports 460.0 million Euros, which is an increase by 39.3% for exports and 29.3% for imports, compared to the same period of 2020.

According to the data of the main groups for export: 30.5% are the miscellaneous manufactured articles; 22.1% are base metals and articles thereof; 11.8% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 9.0% are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 5.1% are mineral products; 3.9% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc.

Whereas, according to the data of the main groups for import: 15.0% are mineral products; 14.0% are machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12.5% ​​are prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco; 9.3% are base metals and articles thereof; 8.6% are vehicles; 6.9% are plastics, rubber and articles thereof; 6.8% are products of the chemical industry, etc.

Kosovo's exports to EU countries (27) amounted to17.2 million Euros, or about 26.5% of total exports, with an increase of 43.5%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU were: Germany (9.4%), Italy (2.9%), the Netherlands (2.3%), etc.

Kosovo's imports from EU countries (27) were about 210.6 million Euros, or 45.8% of total imports, with an increase of 30.4%. The main import partners were: Germany (12.0%), Italy (7.2%), Slovenia (4.7%), Greece (4.3%), etc.

In December 2021, Kosovo's exports to CEFTA countries amounted to 22.8 million Euros, or 35.1% of total exports, with a decrease of (-1.0%). The main export partners from CEFTA countries were: Albania (13.5%), North Macedonia (13.3%), Serbia (5.4), and Montenegro (2.0%).

Imports from CEFTA countries, in December 2021, amounted to 79.4 million Euros, or 17.3% of total imports, with an increase of 14.7%. The countries with the highest share of imports were: Serbia (6.4%), North Macedonia (5.2%), and Albania (4.3%).

Kosovo's exports to other countries of the world amounted to 24.9 million Euros, or 38.4%. The most important export partners from these countries are: USA (25.9%), and Switzerland (6.6%).

Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world amounted to 169.9 million Euros, or 37.0%. The countries with the highest share of imports in this group were: Turkey (13.4%) and China (11.0%).
