Input Price Index and Prices in Agriculture (IPIPA), Q2 2016
Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Input Price Index and Prices in Agriculture" for Q2 2016 (2010 = 100).
The publication is based on the prices of agricultural inputs collected in Kosovo. The price collection was carried out in agricultural pharmacies, veterinary pharmacies, in companies, markets and other places where prices of agricultural inputs are available. Some prices of agricultural inputs are taken from consumer prices (HICP) by KAS.
The products, which form the basis for Input Price Index are divided into two main groups: Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (Input 1) and Goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (Input 2). Within the group of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture, prices are collected under the following groups: Seeds and planting stock, energy, oils, fertilizers and soil improvers, products for plant protection and pesticides, veterinary expenses, feeding animals, maintenance of materials, maintenance of buildings, as well as other goods and services. Regarding Input 2, goods and services contributing to agricultural investment, prices are collected for materials (machinery and other equipment), buildings (farm buildings, other works except land improvements, other buildings, their structures) and other.
Input index of second quarter 2016 has declined for (-1.4%) to Input 1, compared with the same period of 2015. While the index for Input 2 has increased to 11.1% compared to the same period the year 2015. Meanwhile, the total input Index (Input 1 + Input 2) has increased by 3.4% compared with the same period of 2015.
