Input Price Index and Prices in Agriculture, 2015-2021
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the "Input Price Index and Prices in Agriculture" for the period of 2015 - 2021 (2015 = 100)
In order to make comparisons and to observe the changes, data are presented for the years 2015-2021 with the base year 2015 (2015 = 100).
This publication is based on the prices of agricultural inputs collected in Kosovo. Price collection is carried out in agricultural pharmacies, veterinary pharmacies, companies, markets and other places where prices of agricultural inputs are available. Some prices of agricultural inputs are derived from consumer prices (HICP) in KAS.
The outputs which form the basis for the Input Price Index are divided into two main groups: Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (Input 1) and Goods and services that contribute to investments in agriculture (Input 2). Within the group of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture, prices are aggregated according to the following groups: seeds and planting material, energy; oils, fertilizers and soil improvers, plant and pesticide protection products, veterinary expenses, animal feed materials, material maintenance, maintenance of buildings, and other goods and services. In terms of goods and services that contribute to agricultural investment, prices are collected for materials (machinery and other equipment), buildings and others (non-resident farm buildings, works other than land improvement).
In 2021, the annual price index of agricultural inputs has increased by 11.5% for Input 1, compared to 2020. Whereas, the index for Input 2 has increased by 5.0% in 2021, compared to 2020.
Meanwhile, the annual General Input Price Index (Input 1 + Input 2) has increased by 8.3% in 2021, compared to 2020.
Whereas, compared to 2015, the annual price index of agricultural inputs has increased by 3.1% for Input 1 in 2021 and for Input 2 has increased by 16.8% in 2021.
Meanwhile, the annual price index for total input (Input 1+Input 2) has increased by 9.2%, compared to 2015.
