Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the results of the Industrial Waste Survey (IWS) for 2015. The results show the industry, respectively the following activity sectors: B - Mining and Quarrying, C - Manufacturing, D – Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, E - Water supply, sewerage, waste management and land adjustment, F - Construction, G - U - Utility sectors.

The results presented in this publication are important statistical source for waste generated and processed by industry sectors such as: B, C, D, E, F, G-U.

Reporting units in the survey were businesses with 10 or more workers.

Results from the survey show that the largest amount of waste generated has been in sectors of Mining and Quarrying 200 697 tons or 83%.

Total amount of hazardous waste generated was 8193 tons or 3%. While smaller quantity of waste generated in 2015 was in the sector of processing industry with only 15 tons.

Waste processing by type of industry shows that the largest amount of waste disposed was the production of food, beverages and tobacco products as well as construction.
