Industrial Waste Survey, 2019
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the results of the Industrial Waste Survey (IWS) in 2019.
The reporting units included in the survey were businesses with ten (10) or more employees.
The Industrial Waste Survey was conducted according to NACE Rev.2. The companies are classified according to NACE Rev.2 in the sectors of the following activities: A-Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; B - Mining and Quarrying; C - Manufacturing; D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; E - Water supply, sewerage, waste management and land regulation; F - Construction; and G-U- Service Sectors.
Results of the IWS in 2019 indicate that in total: the quantity of industrial waste generated was 2 096 118 tons, or 18% less than last year (2018); the quantity of recycled waste was 9 223 tons; the quantity of waste burned was 299 tons; the quantity of processed waste was 2 096 098 tons (or 18% less than in 2018).
IWS data in 2019 indicate that the largest quantity of waste generated by industry sectors was from sector D - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, with 1 312 043 tons.
