Import Price Index (IMPI) in the first quarter 2022

The total import price index in Kosovo increased by 5.2% in Q1 2022 compared to Q4 2021. Compared to Q1 2021, import prices increased by an average of 21.8%.

Import prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 5.2% in Q1 2022 compared to Q4 2021. The largest increase in prices by sectors were in vegetable products (15.2%), mineral products (11.2%), nutritional oils (7.6%), articles of stone, mortar, ceramics and glass products (7.3%), base metals and articles thereof (6.4%), plastics, rubber and articles thereof (6.0%), means of transport (4.3%), textiles and articles thereof (4.3%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (4.0%), papers and articles thereof (3.9%), wood and articles thereof (3.8%), optical, photographic, measuring, medical instruments, musical and clock mechanisms (2.5%), machinery and electrical equipment (2.4%), prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco (1.9%), live animals; animal output (1.5%) and chemical industry products (0.3%).

The increase was mainly offset by falling prices by sectors of leather and its articles (-1.9%) and footwear (-0.6%).

Import prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 21.8% between Q1 2022 and Q1 2021. The largest increases by sectors were in mineral products (58.2%), base metals and base metal articles (55.5%), articles of stone, mortar, ceramics and glass products (39.6%), edible oils (33.4%), wood and articles thereof (32.9%), plastics, rubber and articles thereof (23.1%), optical, photographic, measuring instruments, medical and musical and clock mechanisms (19.4%), plant products (16.6%), live animals; animal output (14.0%), means of transport (8.7%), machinery and electrical equipment (7.8%), textiles and textile articles (6.5%), prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco (5.5%), chemical industry products (3.8%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (3.0%) and footwear (0.2%).

The increase was mainly offset by the fall in prices by sectors of leather and its articles (-6.9%) and papers and articles thereof (-2.4%).
