Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), February 2017
Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices" (HICP) for February 2017.
Since January 2016, the harmonized index of consumer prices is published with the base year 2015 = 100
Overall harmonized index of consumer prices in the country is higher by 0.2% in February 2017 compared with January 2017. Increased consumer price index is observed in COICOP subgroups: bread and cereals (1.2%), fruit (3.4%) with a common impact of these subgroups of 0.2 percent in the HICP.
The inflation rate measured in the month of February 2017 with February 2016 was 1.7%.
Overall harmonized index of consumer prices is higher for 1.7% in February 2017 compared to February 2016. In this period there are some changes in prices of items and services to COICOP groups and subgroups. Raising consumer price index is observed to COICOP subgroups: meat (0.9%); milk, cheese and eggs (6.0%); sugar and sweets (7.3%); coffee, tea and cocoa (5.8%); tobacco (5.1%); clothing (1.5%); electricity, gas and other fuels (3.9%) - (raising the price of wood for heating); the use of personal transport means (13.1%) - (raising the price of oil and petrol), with a common impact of these subgroups of 2.0 percent in the HICP.
The increase was counteracted mainly by decreases in this period to COICOP subgroups: vegetables (-4.1%); audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment (-4.1%), with a common impact of these subgroups of (-0.3%) in the HICP.
