Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by expenditure and production approach, Q4 2022

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released the data of the Gross Domestic Product for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, according to economic activities and by expenditure approach, at current prices and prices of the previous year.

GDP in Q4 2022 marks a real increase by 3.55%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q4 2021).

The economic activities that had growth in this quarter were: Manufacturing industry (12.52%); Financial and insurance activities (11.53%); Professional, scientific, and technical activities; administrative and support services activities (8.71%); Extractive and manufacturing industry; electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; water supply; waste treatment and management activities and rehabilitation (7.93%); Wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles and motorcycles; transportation and storage; accommodation and food service activities (6.16%); Information and communication (5.94%); Arts, entertainment and recreation, activities of households for own use and other services (5.41%); Agriculture, forestry and fishing (3.35%); Real estate activities (1.76%); Public administration, social security, education and health (0.53%).

Whereas, the economic activity that marked a decline in this quarter was: Construction (-11.81%).

Meanwhile, the GDP components, according to the expenditure method, that had an increase were: Final consumption expenditure (1.00%); and Export of goods and services (9.54%).

Whereas, there was a decrease in: Import of goods and services (-4.96%); Gross capital formation (-8.78%); and Government Expenditures (-0.48%).
