Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by expenditure and production approach, Q1 2022
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2022, by economic activities and expenditure approach, at current prices and prices of the previous year.
GDP in the first quarter (Q1) of 2022 marks a real increase by 4.87%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q1 2021).
The economic activities that had growth in this quarter were: Wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles and motorcycles; transportation and storage; accommodation and food service activities (8.64%); Scientific, professional and technical activities; administrative and support services activities (2.13%); Arts, entertainment and recreation, household goods production activities for their own use and other services (1.84%); Mining, manufacturing, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; water supply; waste treatment and management activities, and rehabilitation (4.08%); Information and communication (3.39%); Agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.03%); Real estate activities (0.85%); Financial and insurance activities (8.78%); and Construction (3.78%).
Meanwhile, economic activities that marked a real decline in this quarter were: Public administration, social security, education and health (-0.33%).
The components of GDP by expenditures that had increased were: Exports of goods and services (27.63%); Import of goods and services (22.10%); and Final consumption expenditures (9.45%).
Whereas, the final consumption expenditures of the Government decreased by (-2.46%).
