Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by economic activity and expenditure approach, 2017

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data for 2017 by economic activity and expenditure approach, based on ESA 2010.

GDP at current prices in 2017 was 6,413.8 million euros. Real growth in 2017, compared to 2016, was 4.23%, while GDP per capita in 2017 was 3 566 euros.

The real growth in 2017 was in these economic activities: Financial and insurance activities (31.4%); construction (8.6%); wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (4.5%); information and communication (3.4%); extractive industry (3.1%); manufacturing industry (3.0%); professional, scientific and technical activities (2.8%); transport and storage (2.8%); agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing (2.7%); real estate business (2.6%); electricity and gas supply (2.5%); administrative and support activities (2.5%); hotels and restaurants (2.4%); art, entertainment and recreation activities (1.9%); other services (1.2%); health and social work activities (1.1%); water supply (1.1%); public administration and defense, compulsory social security (0.9%).

While, the decrease was in education (-0.6%).

Meanwhile, the real growth of the main components of GDP by expenditure approach in 2017 was: Exports of goods (22.2%); export of services (15.3%); import of services (6.3%); import of goods (5.2%); the formation of gross fixed capital (5.7%); inventory changes (3.8%); final household consumption expenditure (1.8%); final consumer expenditure of NPISHs (0.6%).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in Government expenditures by (-0.5%).
