Gross Domestic Product by expenditure and production approach, Q4 2019

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the “Gross Domestic Product” (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2019 (Q4 2019) by economic activities at current and constant prices

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the “Gross Domestic Product” (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2019 (Q4 2019) by economic activities at current and constant prices.

GDP in Q4 2019 recorded a real increase of 3.94%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q4 2018). The real growth of GDP by economic activity is as follows: financial and insurance activities (4.85%); extraction, manufacturing industry, electricity, water supply (4.68%); professional and administrative activities (3.94%); trade, transport, accommodation and food service (4.19%); construction (1.87%); public administration, education and health (4.5%); and agriculture, forestry and fishing (0.14%).

The real decline in this quarter in the data of economic activities was: art, entertainment and recreation, as well as other services activities (-35.76%).

GDP by expenditure approach has increased by: expenditures of the final consumption of the Government (6.64%); export of goods and services (12.88%); import of goods and services (5.7%); gross capital formation (4.59%); and final consumption expenditure of households and non-profit institutions serving households by (2.61%).

With the assessment of the fourth quarter (Q4), according to the methodology, KAS gives a preliminary estimate for 2019, which based on the amount of quarters had an increase of 4.17%, compared to 2018.
