Gross Domestic Product by expenditure and production approach, Q2 2021

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published Gross Domestic Product data in the second quarter of 2021, by economic activities and expenditure approach, at current prices and prices of the previous year.

GDP in Q2 2021 marks a real increase by 16.28%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Economic activities that increased in this quarter were: wholesale and retail trade, vehicle and motorcycle repair, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities (31.9%); construction (27.3%); financial and insurance activities (16.2%); scientific, professional and technical activities, administrative and support services activities (10.2%); information and communication (8.0%); extractive and manufacturing industry, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, water supply, waste treatment and management activities, rehabilitation (6.1%); arts, entertainment and leisure, household goods production activities for own use and other services (6.1%); agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.91%); as well as public administration, social security, education and health (2.68%).

The economic activities that marked a decline in this quarter were: real estate activities (1.10%).

The components of GDP by expenditure method that had an increase are: Exports of goods and services (127%); Imports of goods and services (53.74%); Gross capital formation (31.2%); and Final consumption expenditures (14.20%).

Following the revision of the Gross Domestic Product data on an annual basis 2008-2019, the GDP data on a quarterly basis Q1 2010 - Q1 2021 have been revised, in order to integrate all improved data sources.
