Gross Domestic Product by expenditure and production approach, Q2 2020

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Gross Domestic Product data in the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020) by economic activities and expenditure approach, at current and constant prices.

GDP in Q2 2020 decreases by (-9.28%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q2 2019). Economic activities that marked a decline in this quarter are: construction (-47.08%); trade, transport, accommodation and food service (-24.4%); professional and administrative activities (-16.39%); financial and insurance activities (-6.71%); and agriculture, forestry and fishing (-1.74%).

Meanwhile, real increase in this quarter had economic activities, such as: extractive industry, manufacturing, electricity, and water supply (19.8%); information and communication (29.6%); real estate activities (4.29%); arts, entertainment and recreation, and other service activities (4.64%); as well as public administration, education and health (4.73%).

The components of GDP according to the method of expenditures declining are: gross capital formation (-41.09%); export of services (-62.93%); and imports of goods and services (-19.77%).

Meanwhile, there was an increase in: exports of goods (12.18%); final consumption expenditures of households and IJPSHESH (3.47%); and final consumption expenditures of the Government (8.58%).
