Gross Domestic Product by expenditure and production approach, Q2 2019
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Gross Domestic Product" (GDP) in the second quarter of 2019 (Q2 2019) by economic activities and by expenditure approach at current and constant prices.
GDP in Q2 2019 recorded real growth of 4.13%, compared to Q2 2018. Real GDP growth by economic activity is as follows: financial and insurance activities 22.4%; scientific, professional and technical activities, as well as administrative and support services activities 8.95%; arts, entertainment and recreation, household goods production activities for own use and other services 8.8%; construction 6.9%; extraction, manufacturing, electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply, water supply, and waste treatment and management, and rehabilitation activities 6.7%, of which manufacturing 10.6%; wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities 6.5%; real estate activities 3.6%.
The real decline was in: public administration and defense, compulsory social security, education, health and social work activities (-1.1%); agriculture, forestry and fishing (-0.3%).
On the other hand, GDP by expenditure approach increased by: export of goods and services by 14.3%; gross capital formation by 4.1%; final consumption expenditure of households and non-profit institutions serving households by 0.1%.
The real decline was in the data of: Government final consumption expenditure (-3.2%); import of goods and services (-0.5%), compared to the same period of the year.
