Gross Domestic Product by expenditure and production approach, Q1 2020
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the "Gross Domestic Product" (GDP) in the first quarter of 2020 (Q1 2020) by economic activities at current and constant prices.
GDP in Q1 2020 recorded a real increase of 1.29%, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q1 2019). Real GDP growth by economic activity is as follows: financial and insurance activities (5.72%); professional and administrative activities (4.20%); extractive, manufacturing industry, electricity, water supply (4.12%); information and communication (1.47%); real estate activities (1.17%); trade, transport, accommodation and food service (0.30%).
Meanwhile, in this quarter there was a real decrease in economic activity of: arts, entertainment and leisure and other service activities (-26.84%); construction (-12.40%); agriculture, forestry and fishing (-0.15%); public administration, education and health (-0.10%).
Whereas, GDP by expenditure approach, in this quarter, has had an increase in: exports of goods and services (29.54%); import of goods and services (4.12%); and final consumption expenditure of households and non-profit institutions serving households by (0.22%).
Whereas, there was a decrease in the data of: gross capital formation (-9.35%) and final consumption expenditures of the Government (-1.04%).
The quarterly GDP (Q1 2020), by economic activities, is presented at the A*10 level of aggregation of national accounts.
